The journal's primary focus is on scholarly inquiry and critical discourse regarding the theory, practice, history, and current issues of Islamic Education across all levels (early childhood, primary, secondary, and tertiary), and in diverse settings (formal, non-formal, and informal). We welcome studies that are interdisciplinary and comparative in nature, connecting Islamic Education with modern pedagogical, psychological, sociological, and technological advancements.

Scope

We invite submissions covering, but not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Curriculum and Instruction in Islamic Education: Development, evaluation, and implementation of PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam) and Islamic school curricula.
  2. Islamic Educational Philosophy and Thought: Critical analysis of classical and contemporary Islamic thinkers and their relevance to modern education.
  3. Teacher Professional Development: Competencies, training, and ethical standards for Islamic education teachers (mudaris/ustadz).
  4. Educational Management and Leadership: Leadership and governance in Islamic schools (madrasah) and pesantren (Islamic boarding schools).
  5. Integration of Science and Islam: Models and approaches for integrating religious values and scientific knowledge in the classroom.
  6. Technology in Islamic Education (EdTech): The use of digital tools and media in teaching and learning Islamic subjects.
  7. Islamic Psychology and Counseling: Application of Islamic principles in guidance, counseling, and character building (akhlak).
  8. Comparative Islamic Education: Analysis of Islamic education systems across different countries and cultural contexts.
  9. History and Culture of Islamic Education: Historical development of institutions like madrasah and kuttab.
